Born in Detroit, MI on January 11, 1941, died Saturday afternoon, October 15, 2016. An Associate of the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, Annette was a resident of Rosary Care Center on the campus of Lourdes College, where she died peacefully with her sister, also a resident, Sr. Patricia Taube. The two were inseparable since Annette retired to live closer to Pat in Huntington, WV. Annette had been a leader in both the fields of nursing and surgical technology. She pioneered much of the teaching of surgical technology, first at Owens College and later at Columbus State. Annette served not only her students but also the church, most memorably her time at St. John the Baptist Parish in Point Place. She is survived by her sister; her brothers, Mike and Tom; her adopted son, Dan Jones (Judy Black); and her 4 grandchildren. Viewing will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Lourdes Campus Queen of Peace Chapel. Funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Internment will immediately follow at St. Hedwig Cemetery in Dearborn Heights, MI, where both her mother, Eleanor (Machlik) and father, Thomas Taube are at rest.
