Candace “Candy” Louise (Maupin) Bollin, 73, of Swanton, OH, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2017. Candy was born on December 28, 1943 in Toledo, OH to Veronica and Buck Maupin. She graduated from Rogers High School in 1961. She then attended The University of Toledo, prior to marrying Edward Bollin and raising her family. She worked in the Department of Radiology at the Medical College of Ohio for 26 years, retiring in 2010. Following her retirement, Candy enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, in addition to her other family and friends. She was an amazing and very loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many. She was active in the Dendarah Court of the Ladies Oriental Shrine, serving as High Priestess in 2004 and was a member of the Patrol and Outlaw Units. In 2004, she established Tim
my’s Day Out at the Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Erie, PA which benefits children with spina bifida, in honor of her son, Timmy. Candy had many interests including baking, gardening, crafts, and loved playing cards with her friends. Candy is survived by her daughters, Nicole (Bollin) Wisniewski and husband, Philip, Brooke Bollin-Richards and husband, Brian; grandchildren, Spencer, Olivia and Elliot Wisniewski, Graham and Henry Richards; mother, Veronica Lawrence; brother, Timothy Maupin; sisters, Penelope (Michael) Nino and Kimberly (Jeffrey) McNally; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Timmy Bollin; her father, Buck Maupin; and her sister, Leslie Galliers. The family will receive guests at the Thomas I. Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 N. Reynolds Rd., in Toledo on Thursday, June 8, from 4-8 p.m.; at 7 p.m. there will be a Dendarah Court Shrine Service. A Celebration of Life will be held at First Congregational Church, 2315 Collingwood Blvd., in Toledo on Friday, June 9, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to her cause “Timmy’s Day Out” Shriner’s Hospital, 1645 W. 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
