Carol A. (Gasiorowski) Lechlak

Carol Ann Lechlak, 79, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday June 2, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born in Toledo to Dominic and Salome (Kujawa) Gasiorowski on February 8, 1938. She attended St. Anthony church and school and graduated in 1956 from Whitney High School. Later that year, she married Daniel Lechlak and moved into the St. Hyacinth Catholic Church neighborhood where they became faithful, lifelong parishioners and began raising their 6 children. Before starting her family, Carol worked at Lasalle’s Department store. She returned to retail several years later working many nights and weekends at The Lion Store and then Dilliard’s, all while beginning a fulltime position at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Ohio and later Medical Mutual of Ohio from which she retired. Mrs. Lechlak was preceded in death by her husband, Dan in 2001; her son, Jerome in 2014; her parents and 5 of her siblings. She will be dearly missed by her children, Cindy (Tony)
Krizman, Dennis (Colleen), Julie (Tom Bagot), Scott, and Tom (Stephanie); her daughter-in-law, Cathy; her sister, Joan Nowacki; her 10 grandchildren; her greatgrandson and her many extended family members and friends. Family and friends may visit Friday, June 9, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Thomas I. Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 N. Reynolds Rd. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 10, beginning with visitation at 10:15 a.m. at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church, 720 Parkside Blvd. followed by Mass at 11:00. The family extends a special thank you to all of the staff at Ebeid Hospice Residence for their excellent and loving care during mom’s last days. Memorial donations made in Carol’s honor to CCHS Athletics, Cherry Street Mission, or any veteran’s organization will be greatly appreciated.
