Eleanor V. (Wieczorek) Szymanski

Eleanor V. Szymanski, of Sylvania, passed away on January 23, 2017 at Promedica Heartland in Sylvania. She was a loving wife to her husband Victor and a wonderful mother and grandmother. During her 93 years on earth she most enjoyed spending time and holidays with her family, playing Tripoly, working puzzles, traveling on casino trips, doing word searches and listening to Polish music on Sunday mornings. 

Eleanor spent many days with her granddaughter Heather, from an early age taking her shopping, stopping for ice cream cones and more recently discussing scratch-off winnings with her. Eleanor worked at the Jeep Corporation along with her husband Vic. They were married in 1946 for just short of fifty years. She was a member of the 55 Club and a longtime member of St. Hedwig's and St. Adalbert's Catholic Churches.

She was preceded in death by her husband Vic, parents Joseph Wieczorek and Hattie (Zalewska), grandson Ryan Jason, her sisters Lottie Zwierzychowski, Martha Polek, Irene Todorowski and brothers Henry, Tony, Donald and Eugene Wieczorek. 

Left to cherish her memories is her son David, daughter-in-law Judith, granddaughter Heather, sisters Wanda Niemiec and JoAnn (Fred) Cieslewski and many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks to her niece Sharon Sass for all her help, assistance and frequent visits with Eleanor. Also to her caring and thoughtful neighbor Cindy, who was always there to help.

Per Eleanors request, all services were private. Interment Calvary Cemetery, next to her beloved Vic. Memorial donations are suggested to St. Adalbert and St. Hedwig Catholic Church.
