Jack O. Hoenig

Jack O. Hoenig, 72, passed away on Saturday, March 18th, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Born March 26, 1944 to the late John and Marian Hoenig. He graduated from Woodward High School in 1962. Jack went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Toledo.

Jack spent his career working at Press Equipment Corp., a company started by his father. Jack became president of the company when his dad retired. He was a longtime active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, serving as an elder, Sunday School teacher and youth leader. He spent many years traveling with youth in Ongoing Ambassadors for Christ reaching out to the unchurched in the community. His passions included gardening, woodworking, bowling, playing the accordion and harmonica. Jack was a longtime member of the Toledo Turner Club, where he bowled, played volleyball, was a Mardi Gras prince and enjoyed many summers at the turtle hunt weekends. He grew up spending weekends at Devil’s/Round lake, enjoying lifelong friendships at the Island Park Recreation Club; a love he passed on to his children.

On August 26, 1967 he married the love of his life Kathy Flood. She proceeded him in death. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Sherie (Pat) Thomas, Kim (Robert) Navarette and John (Heather) Hoenig; brother, Robert (Cindy) Hoenig; Grandchildren, Pam, Stephanie, Isabel, Samantha, Grace, Gabe, Sophia and Ryan; great- grandchildren, Abigail and Connor. He was predeceased by Grandsons Andrew and Dylan.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. at Thomas I. Wisniewski Funeral Home 2426 N. Reynolds Rd. 419- 531-4424. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with visitation starting at 10 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Toledo. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
