Richard J. Homan, age 87 years, a longtime resident of Brunswick, Ohio entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 6, 2016. He was born on March 27, 1929, in Kingsway, OH to Carl and Lillian (Wartz) Homan and was a graduate of Toledo Central Catholic High School and the University of Toledo. He served in the U.S. Air Force and worked for Varian Associates of California as an electrical engineer. His favorite pastime was walking and he also enjoyed baseball. Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rita (Duszynski) Homan in 1989; his son, Walter; brothers, Walter, Robert, Mark and James; and sister, Catherine Lucius. Surviving are his son, Mike (Mary Birkbeck) Homan of Gig Harbor, WA; and grandchildren, Tessa, Allen and Autumn Homan. The family will be receiving friends on Friday, August 19, at the Thomas I. Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 North Reynolds Rd.. 419531-4424 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Adalbert Catholic Church where the family will receive guests beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to the charity of the donors choice.
