Rita Trawinski Kolbeck, age 95, died October 7, 2016. She was born to the late Frank and Rose (Merickel) Trawinski on October 29, 1920, and preceded in death by her husband, Lessley Kolbeck and brother, Frank Trawinski Jr. A graduate of St. Mary’s Grade School, Central Catholic High School (1939), Mary Manse College and the University of Toledo, Rita went on to teach at St. Ann’s, Glann and Hawkins Elementary Schools. During World War II, Rita was the secretary for the commanding officer at the Toledo Medical Depot. A member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rita sang in the Resurrection Choir. She was also active in the Salesian Club and Catholic Collegiate. Volunteer work included Wildwood Metropark and Central Catholic High School. She is survived by daughters, Kristine (Sabry) El Gamel, Marcia and Carol Kolbeck; son, John (Jill) Kolbeck; grandchildren, Zak and Carolina El Gamel, Anthony (Annie), Gregory and Ashley Kolbeck; also greatgranddaughter, Carrollee Rose Kolbeck. Rita is also survived by sisters-in-law, Eileen Trawinski and Nila Kolbeck; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, children whose relationship she cherished. The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2016, in the Thomas I. Wisniewski Funeral Home (419-531-4424), where a Scripture Service will be held at 6:00 p.m.. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on October 12, 2016, with a viewing starting at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Those planning memorials are asked to consider St. Pius X Church and ProMedica Hospice.
