Rose M. Leive
Rose M. Leive, age 86, of Toledo passed away March 14, 2018. She was born in Toledo on March 21, 1931 to Stanley and Martha (Kierecki) Krukowski. She was retired from the former United Home Federal. She was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church, where she sang in the adult and funeral choirs. She had previously sang with the Toledo Seaway Sweet Adelines. She and her husband enjoyed Western Style Square dancing in past years. On May 19, 1956, Rose married her best friend, Herman (Bud) Leive, and they had 39 happy years together, before his death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Harold (Catherine) Frank who raised her in Rochester, NY; her two brothers, Stanley and John Krukowski; two sisters, Frances and Mary Jane; friend, Ed; her beloved Yorkie, Dudley.
Surviving is Joan (Richard) Wood and family, who she grew up with in Rochester, and they were like sisters. Also surviving are special nieces and nephews, Janet (Ron) Vogelpohl and family, Lynn (Dave), Deborah (Harley) and their families, Virginia Hanson and families, Modesto, CA., Bill (Barb) Weichel and family, Fred (Judy) Krieger, Warren Althoff and family, JoAnne (Ed) Henning and family and special friends, Kirk (Peggy) Descamps and family, Bonnie and Harry Urbanus (who made the best soups) and Judy and Leonard Polcyn, her cat Tron and all my friends at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 in Little Flower Catholic Church, where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment Toledo Memorial Park, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Rose's memory may be made to the church, Maumee Valley Save A Pet, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or a charity of the donor's choice .
