Steven S. Kupper

Steven S. Kupper age 77, passed away peacefully in his home on 2/20/24. He was born April 6, 1946 to Saul and sophie Kupper in Toledo OH, alongside his beloved sister, Marcia. Steve graduated from the University of Toledo in 1968 with his bachelors degree. Then he went on to obtain his MBA. Later he created his company, Steven S. Kupper Tax Service. He loved doing taxes and worked hard to form a personal connection with his clients over the years.

He married Kathy (Onestak) Kupper in 1974. They had a son and daughter together, that he loved dearly.

There were many memories made throughout the years; going to Pistons games, the Toledo Zoo, playing cut-throat games of Rumikub and Scrabble.

Despite some health issues over the years, Steve spent his last years enjoying travels all over the country and world especially Alaska and Israel - his favorites with his partner, Karen Lieberman as well as playing cards and going to eat with friends (especially the best delis) in the Ohio and Florida area.

Over the years, he had acquired a unique grouping of friends, as he had a kind and welcoming heart. This created an openness to a variety of different types of people. 

Throughout much of his life, he has maintained a strong connection with the community at Temple B'nai Israel in Monroe Michigan. 

Aside from his love for his family and those close to him, he was an avid fan of the University of Michigan football team as well as old shows like the Longe ranger, Perry Mason, Hallmark and old movies. 

Dad, we hope that there is a corned beef sandwich, a Diet Coke and a new copy of navy blue and gold waiting for you on the other side of things. Your sense of humor (corny as it may be ) and classic dad jokes, the phone calls with you in the middle of the day to say hello and your trips with us will be greatly missed! You are so deeply loved and missed.

Steve is survived by his partner, Karen Lieberman, his loving children, daughter Missy Eckenrode (husband, Matt) and granddaughter, Lorraine and his son, Mark Kupper (wife, Heather) as well as Kathy Kupper, the mother of his children. Steve was preceded in death by his sister, Marcia Sheftel and his parents, Saul and Sophie Kupper.

Steve's family will host a memorial service on Friday, February 23, 2024 at  Robert H. Wick/Wisniewski Funeral Home in Toledo OH on Reynolds Road at 2:00 pm.
