the U.S. Air Force base in Houston, Texas before moving to Toledo, Ohio. After becoming a widow at 37, Arlene earned her Bachelor degree and Master of Social Work degree, both Summa Cum Laude, from the University of Toledo. Her work over many years at the Ruth S. Ide Community Mental Health Center (now Unison Behavioral Health Group) allowed her to make a significant and important impact in the lives of countless families in the community. Her relentlessly positive attitude and endless love for her family and many friends will be sorely missed. Her family and friends will gather for a Memorial Service to be held at Temple Shomer Emunim on Monday, June 19, 2017 at noon to be followed by lunch. The family will receive all who wish to celebrate Arlene’s life anytime until 3 p.m. at the Temple. The family would like to especially thank Dr. Sue Federman, as well as the kind, caring staff of Ebeid Hospice. Arlene has always believed in putting the needs of others above her own and in that giving spirit, she asked that any remembrances be in the form of memorial contributions to the American Civil Liberties Union, an organization dedicated to defending and preserving the individual rights of all people, or of course, the charity of your choice
