Betty Leota Ford of Toledo  peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 3, 2017. Her last years were spent at the Sunset House in Ottawa Hills. Betty was born to Pearl and William Dye in Harrison, West Virginia on June 23, 1924. She lived in Midland, PA. with her parents and five siblings until she married and moved to Toledo.

Betty married Cecil Ford on June 1, 1945. Until Cecil's death in 1991 they remained side by side loving each other, raising their family and enjoying life. They retired to Indian Rocks Beach, Florida in 1976 where they spent many happy years with summer visits back in Toledo with family.

In her younger years Betty was an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cake decorating, gardening and most anything creative she could do with her hands. She continued her crocheting until the end making countless afghans for everyone in the family.

While Betty enjoyed many things, her passion in life was her family. Her home, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were centermost in her every thought. She taught with great faith and wisdom, loved unconditionally and supported each one until the end. Her legacy is her family and it will live on through the generations.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Dorothy and Barbara Dye and grandson, Scott Goddard.. She is survived by her brothers, Billy Dye and Sonny Dye and sister JoAnne Dye; daughters Joyce (Tim) Haskins and Connie (Jack) Bucher; her grandchildren, Kimberly (Mike) Kijewski, Robert (Kathi) Bucher, Kevin (Angel Jackson) Bucher and Jeffery (Sarah) Bucher; her great grandchildren, Emily (Najwan) Mansour, Tory Rogers, Jacqueline Goddard, Isaiah Goddard, Audra (Tyler) Benschooter, Miranda Douglas, Connor Zaborowski, Jaden Bucher and Reagan Bucher. She will be dearly missed by all.

A celebration of life well lived will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 with a visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. and a service at 12 Noon at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 915 N. Reynolds Rd. Toledo, Ohio, followed by interment at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the Sunset House and Ashanti Hospice for the loving care and support of their mother. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Epiphany Lutheran Church or the Sunset House.
