Dr. Marvin J. Rubin
Dr. Marvin J. Rubin, age 89, died May 29, 2018. Born June 27, 1928 in New Jersey, the son of Eli and Doris Rubin, he attended the Chicago College of Podiatric Medicine which led to a 50-year career as a podiatrist. A zealous advocate in the world of public health, he also served in the US Army as a doctor during the Korean War. Active in numerous Jewish communities his involvement as part of the Minyan was a significant part of his life. Preceding him was his brother Harris.
Survived by his wife of nearly 48 years, Barbara, children Deidre Goebel, Dr. Robert (Rabbi Sarah) Rubin and Rabbi Evan (Kerry) Rubin of Congregation Etz Chayim, brother Ken Rubin; also seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services will held Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 10 a.m. in the Robert H. Wick/Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 N. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, OH. Interment Beth Shalom Cemetery. Following a private meal of condolence, Shivah will begin at 2 p.m. in the Rubin home and continue through Tuesday evening excluding Friday afternoon and Saturday.
