Lila Sklar Raskin died January 11, 2018 at Kingston Care Center of Sylvania, with her daughters by her side. She was born on May 22, 1924 to Edward and Dorothy Sklar, immigrants from Russia and Poland, in Detroit, Michigan.

She attended Central High School in Detroit and the University of Michigan. She met the love of her life, Larry, in high school, married while he was in the US Army and moved to Toledo when his father started Toledo Pickling & Steel Service, Inc.. Lila spent her life as a homemaker and enjoyed many interests, volunteering, cooking and traveling. She loved to play golf at Glengary and Belmont Country Club and belonged to the Toledo Women's District Golf Association. She and Larry traveled the world, through YPO, visiting China, Russia, Israel, Egypt and France. Being from Detroit, she loved all things Detroit, especially the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Free Press. Going to a Tigers game with her nephew Bennett was always a summer highlight. She was very loyal to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She and Larry were permanent fixtures at Ottawa Hills sporting events - field hockey, football, basketball, baseball and softball games. She was an elegant lady who was always impeccable about her appearance. She was a lady in the true sense of the word. She will be remembered for her great sense of style and love of family. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry and daughter, Margaret Ellen raskin. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Leslie Risley (David) and Betsy Poulos, sister Helene (Daniel) Lublin and grandchildren, Matthew McCaffery (Lauren), Brooke Rasmus (Markus), Drew Poulos, Hali Forshey (Joey) and great grandchildren, Sam, Alex and Merrill McCaffery, Mila and Lily Rasmus and Jack Forshey. Graveside services will be private. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday January 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Temple Shomer Emunim, 6453 W. Sylvania Ave. Sylvania, OH. 43560.
