Pearl Yourist Jaffe, born in 1927 in Toledo, died Thursday evening, June 22, 2017 in Ann Arbor. When she was younger, she was the life of the party. She touched everyone she met with her great stories and terrific sense of humor. Even as she matured and faced the challenges of Parkinson’s she could still tell a good joke and make others laugh. With each passing year, her heart grew larger, enfolding those who knew her and cared for her in her loving heart, genuine gratitude, and mischievous spirit. Isadore Yourist, her first husband died in 1971. They had three children together: Jan, Kay, and Sheldon. Her second husband, Charles Jaffe, died in 2013. Pearl is survived by her twin sister Lilly Yourist and the families of Pearl’s three children, Jan Yourist and Jerome Bloom and son, Isaac Bloom; Kay Yourist and Susan Minard; Sheldon and Laurie Yourist and their children Adam, Cameron, and Sara. We will carry her spirit with us always.
