Dear Beverly,
I was so sorry to learn about Vince's death this morning. His obituary was sent to me by the college development officer.
I was dean of the college within which the Criminal Justice program resided and had an opportunity to work with Vince. I so enjoyed our many conversations during which he often made reference to you, his wonderful wife. I valued his passion for teaching and for the care he exhibited for the students in his classes. He was truly a wonderful man. I was privileged to have him as a colleague.

I was so sorry to read about Vince. His was a unique voice in the community - badly needed and irreplaceable. We're sorry to miss the ceremony, but Pam was out of town and I was picking her up at Detroit Sunday afternoon. You have our sincere condolences.
