It is with great sadness that the family of Barry V. Sells announces his sudden passing on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the age of 64.
Barry was born on March 2, 1957. After graduating high school and some life experiences, Barry enlisted in the U.S. Army, devoting nearly 20 years of his life to the service. He proudly fought in Operation Desert Storm in the 1st Calvary Division. One of his proudest accomplishments was to be named a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, celebrating dedicated leadership and exemplary noncommissioned officer professionalism. He carried his love of our country and troops for all of his days.
It was after his service he married Julie (McClain) Sells. They shared poetry, football Sundays (he eventually came to love the Browns), family barbeques, grandchildren, and more. Barry believed it is the ordinary things that make life extraordinary. He will always be loved.
Barry is survived by his wife Julie; stepchildren Stephen (Cassie) Zarich, Rachel Zarich-Bean (Mitchel Bean), Alyssa Zarich (Steve Giljum), and Jennifer (Christian) Ramirez; grandchildren Tucker, Emma, Sam, Stephen, Joshua, Abigail, Natalia and Brendan; brother Elliot (Cheryl) Sells; nephews Eric (Johnna) Sells and David (Karli) Sells and niece Lauren (Andrew) Diffenderfer; and aunt Myra (Haack) Zaenger,
He was preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Joyce (Haack) Sells and his brother Brent Sells.
Services will be held at the Robert H. Wick/Wisniewski Funeral Home 2426 North Reynolds Rd. Toledo, OH. 43615, with family receiving guests on Saturday, June 26 from 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon and a memorial service being held from noon until 1:00 p.m. Private burial will take place at a later date.
