Betty Slotnick, 93, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on December 9, 2021, with her daughter by her side. She was born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, to Isaac and Freida Kline. Betty graduated from high school and then moved to Detroit, Michigan, where she met her husband, Harry. They moved around for a few years, finally settling in Toledo. She worked as a secretary for many years until her daughter was born, and then she stayed home full-time.
She was a most beloved person to all she encountered and had lots of friends throughout her lifetime. She was always a great listener and gave unconditional love and support to those around her. Her voice was beautiful, and she loved to sing. Just last week, she sang with her daughter as they walked down the hall together.
Betty was always up for an impromptu shopping trip, a meal in a restaurant, tickets to the theater, or traveling anywhere. A family trip to St. Lucia was one of the highlights of her last few years. Her humor was unparalleled, and she loved a good joke. Even as her condition worsened, her humor stayed intact.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Lisa; granddaughter, Haley; son-in-law, Norbert; special friend, Zack; many other special people from the Bickford of Scioto; and numerous family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 56 years, her cat, and all of her siblings.
Service will be held on Monday, December 13, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Beth Shalom Cemetery, 420 Otter Creek Road, Oregon, Ohio. Masks are required for the service in the Chapel.
For those unable to attend in person we are offering a Live Stream of the Graveside Funeral Service for Betty beginning at 10:15am on Monday, December 13 for those who wish to attend the Service virtually.
