Betty Mae (Fink) Brandman Obituary

Betty Mae (Fink) Brandman, passed away on May 5, 2024, in Findlay, Ohio, at the age of 96, after a period of declining health.

Betty was born April 10, 1928, in Toledo, Ohio. Her parents were Anna and Samuel Fink. After growing up in Toledo, Betty met and married Jack Brandman and joined him in Findlay. Jack passed away on July 11, 1992.

While her primary focus was raising their four children, she developed great talent in culinary skills, Interior decorating, gardening and art. Her artistry filled Jack and Betty's farmhouse Brandmanor. (She made great Christmas cookies!)

Betty was active in many civic groups in Findlay: TWIG supporting Blanchard Valley Hospital, Town & Country supporting Findlay University, and Meridian Club. She served on the board of Woman's National Farm and Garden Association. She was a long-time member of the Findlay Country Club and Temple Congregation Shomer Emunim. She was also a member of the Tucson Symphony Women's Association.

Betty was preceded in death by her older brother, Jerome Fink; and older sister, Helen Burke.

Betty is survived by her children, Cheryl Clark (Thomas), Lima, OH, Charles Brandman (Judy), Houston, TX, Suellen Haggerty, San Jose, CA and Tracy Quinn (Robert), Santa Rosa, CA. In addition, her surviving grandchildren, Lauren Slocum (Kirby), Traverse City, MI, Andrew Brandman (Jennifer), Houston, TX, Sharon Knight (Alan), Pueblo, CO, Jacqueline Clarke (Stephen), Nashville, TN, Isabel Haggerty, Seattle, WA and Jacob Quinn, Santa Rosa, CA. Her surviving great-grandchildren, Ethan Slocum, Brady Slocum, Carter Slocum, Kaitlyn Brandman, Erika Brandman, Connor Knight, Benjamin Knight, Alexander Knight, Maxwell Clarke.

On behalf of Betty's entire family, we would like to thank the staff of Birchaven Village for their kindness and care for Mom.

A memorial service in Betty's honor will be scheduled at a later date. Anyone desiring to make a memorial in her honor is asked to contribute to either the Blanchard Valley Health System Foundation, the University of Findlay Foundation, or a charity of your choice.

Arrangements by the Robert H. WICK/Wisniewski Funeral Home (419) 535-5840.
