Claire Fersht-Brenner, nee Waldman, was born on March 12, 1928, in Brooklyn, New York to parents Miriam and Paul Waldman. She graduated from Brooklyn's New Utrecht High School in 1945, and then graduated with a Fine Arts degree from Hunter College (Manhattan) in 1949.
Claire married Harvey Fersht in 1950, and the couple soon moved to Detroit, then Oak Park, MI. After several years, the family of four moved to Saginaw, MI., where Claire became an elementary school teacher at Carrolton Elementary School in Carrolton, MI. Claire and Harvey divorced in 1971. She taught in Carrolton until her retirement in 1980.
Claire married Albert Brenner, lived together in Saginaw, MI. and was married to him for 13 years. Upon Albert's death, she moved to Sylvania, Ohio so she could be closer to her daughter.
Claire's interests included art, reading, shopping, traveling and being with her family. She is survived by her sister, Selma Oxman, of South Farmingdale, NY., daughter, Andrea Lublin (Jeffery) of Sylvania Township, OH., her son Eric (Ann) of Woodland, CA. and grandchildren Jeremy Lublin of Greenpoint Brooklyn, NY., Stephan Lublin (Lali) of Manhattan, NY. and great granddaughter Madeline Lublin.
Claire's graveside service is at Mount Ararat Cemetery in East Farmingdale, New York. Officiating will be Rabbi Yisroel Nissim. Donations in Claire's memory can be made to the Chabad of Greenpoint, 48 India Street Brooklyn, New York 11222 or to the Alzheimer's Association.
