Diane Steinberg Bernstein (11/1/40) died peacefully at Hospice of NW Ohio on Saturday, September 27, 2025 after a brief illness.  She was born in New York, New York to Dr. A.H. and Elaine Steinberg, both originally from Toledo. They returned to Toledo where Diane graduated from Ottawa Hills High School.  She married Joseph J. Bernstein and they raised one son, Dr. Andrew Bernstein (Livingston, NJ).  Diane was a loving mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Over the years, she contributed her time to the Toledo Jewish News, Temple Shomer Emunim and the Toledo Museum of Art.
Diane is survived by her son Andrew, his wife, Dr. Stacy Bernstein, grandchildren Mia and Rhys, her sister, Patti Gerbie (Melvin) and many devoted caregivers. 
She was very proud to be a member of the large Steinberg family and will be terribly missed.  A graveside service will be held on Wednesday,  October 8, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery.
