Edith Katzenberg

Edith Katzenberg of Sylvania Township Passed Away on July 14, 2022, at age 95.

Born in Queens, New York, she was a graduate of City College and Long Island University with a Master's in Education. She married Julius Katzenberg in December 1946. They raised their family in Massapequa New York, the city Edith loved and where she made life long friends. In 1978, the family moved to Toledo. She became a Member of Temple Shomer Emunim and Woman's American ORT.

Edith had many interests including traveling, crossword puzzles, telling stories and Mahjong. Most of all, she enjoyed her children and grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Julius; and brother, Sy Strassberg. Surviving her is her daughter, Sheryl Wachsman (Don); and son, Dr. Daniel Katzenberg; along with her nephew, Ira Strassberg; and her four grandchildren, Adlai, Ben, Henry, and William whom she loved dearly.

There will be a Graveside Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery located at 1502 Central Ave. July 18, 2022 at 11 a.m. Following the burial will be a remembrance at the house from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and again from 5 p.m. -8 p.m. followed by a second day at the house July 19, 2022 from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family is asking donations be sent to ORT or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
