Elizabeth M. "Betsy" Fried died unexpectedly Sunday December 24, 2023 at Mercy Health Care in Perrysburg, Ohio. She was born on May 27, 1946 in Rossford, Ohio to John and Margaret  (Jondro)  Gallagher. Betsy was the widow of Stephen P. Fried who passed away on September 27, 2021. She was a children's librarian for over 30 years in the Toledo Public Library system and had taught for a short time at Monroe Community College. Betsy was proud of her Irish heritage and loved cooking, especially for the holidays. She loved collecting hedgehogs and ladybugs. 

Surviving are her daughters, Megan (Sam) VanDyke and Sarah (Ronald) Mills; brother John (Brenda) Gallagher, Jr. and her four grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Maddy and Izzy VanDyke and Ian and Jacob Mills.

The family will be receiving friends in the Robert H. Wick/Wisniewski Funeral Home on Tuesday December 26, 2023 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. with a time for sharing memories of Betsy.
