Ellen Berkowitz

Ellen Eileen Berkowitz, daughter of Leona and Bernard Jaffe, died peacefully on August 5, 2023, at the age of 74. She graduated from DeVilbiss High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree from Lourdes College. She was a data analyst at Toledo Hospital for over 30 years, and a member of AHIMA and other organizations. After retirement, she worked part time at Flower Hospital for 6 years. 

Ellen was a member of Etz Chayim Synagogue and it's Sisterhood, as well as BBYO and Hadassah. She loved playing Mahjong weekly with her friends. She enjoyed going to art shows, musicals and the Toledo Symphony. 

Ellen was married to her loving husband, Morris, for 56 years. 

Surviving is her husband, Morris; children, Aaron (Trisha), Jennifer (Greg), Megan (Scott) and Laura; grandchildren, Alec and Erika; and sisters, Marcia and Shirley. 

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. in the Robert H. Wick/Wisniewski Funeral Home located at 2426 North Reynolds Rd., Toledo, OH 43615. Graveside services will follow at Beth Shalom Cemetery, 420 Otter Creek Rd., Oregon, OH. Shiva will be held in the Berkowitz home on Wednesday and Thursday from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. 

Memorial donations are suggested to the Etz Chayim Synagogue.
