Ellen Chabler

Ellen Chabler, or 'Bunny' to her family, passed away in Columbus, Ohio surrounded by love and family on June 10, 2022.

Ellen was born in Brooklyn, New York on February 9, 1939. Born to Robert and Beatrice Price, the family moved to Toledo, Ohio when Ellen was 16. While attending the University of Michigan, she met the love her life, Allan Chabler, a law student at the University of Toledo. They married on August 31, 1958.

Ellen graduated with a degree in education from the University of Toledo, after which she taught at Toledo Public Schools, a strong working woman ahead of her time. She and Allan raised four beautiful children. They spent many happy years with the kids, taking memorable road trips out to California, riding roller coasters, going to art museums and shows, watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, and always finding the sweet things in life.

Ellen was very passionate about the things she loved; shopping, politics, eating out, birthday trips with her daughters, and the people that enriched her life. Family was the most important thing to Ellen. She always took the time to call her children and grandchildren, just one of the many ways she showed her unconditional love.

She spent the last year surrounded by her loved ones in Columbus, Ohio.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Beatrice Price, and her beloved husband, Allan Chabler.

She is survived by her four children, Leslie Miller (Alan), Jacqueline Morris Bell (David), Michael Chabler (Lilla), Sue Macklis (Gary); brother, Stephen Price (Donna); grandchildren, Shaina, Alexandra, Samantha, Robbie, Annie, Sara, Ben, and Hanna; and many great friends that she met along the way.

A service and burial will be held at Beth Shalom Cemetery, 420 Otter Creek Road, Oregon, Ohio 43616, at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2022. Arrangements are by the

The family will be sitting Shiva at the home of daughter Sue Macklis, on Wednesday and Thursday evening at 6:30. For more information, please contact the family.
