In Loving Memory of Francine Thanasiu

October 26, 1962 - December 18, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Francine Thanasiu, a beloved mother, sister, and friend. Francine peacefully departed this world on December 18, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Her life was marked by both joys and challenges, but through it all, she faced life with courage and resilience. 

Francine grew up in Toledo surrounded by the warmth of family and the embrace of the Jewish community. She was the daughter of Louis and Diane Steingroot, both of whom preceded her in death. Her grandmother, Sarah London, also preceded her in passing.

Francine is survived by her loving son, Nicholas Thanasiu, who meant the world to her. She is also survived by her brother, Philip Steingroot, and sister, Michelle Marcum (nee Steingroot). She leaves behind three nieces, Samantha Marcum, Hannah Marcum, and Abigail Marcum. 

Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service at 10:00am on Thursday, December 21 at Eagle Point Cemetery, Rossford, OH.

May Francine Thanasiu rest in eternal peace, and may her memory live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
