Harvey Lee "Bud" McGrew

Harvey L. "Bud" McGrew, surrounded by his family, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2024. Beloved husband of Barbara McGrew, Bud was father of Cindy Conyers (Greg), Dianna Brown (Russ), Melissa Sikorski (Scott), Paul McGrew (Ky), Mark McGrew (Michelle) and Stacie McGrew. He was preceded in death by son, Michael McGrew. Bud was stepfather to David Rosen (Jacki) and Maryl Rosen (Lisa) and grandfather of Ann Toepke (Shelby), Karlie, Mckenzie, Jace, Drew, Jack, Mark, Aiden, Naomi, Adam and Gabriel and great grandfather to Mackenzie Smith, Colter and Paige; also surviving is his sister Carolyn Mills (Bill).

Bud was born on August 20, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio to Carol Schwager and Harry McGrew. Bud served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War as a a cryptographer. After the Army, he taught English and History at both Genoa and Waite High School and coached Waite High Schools wrestling team. Bud developed a reading program for non-commissioned officers at the Marine Corp., became a self taught sculptor and artist, and kept up his boxing skills by regularly hitting the speed bag. Bud brought love and cheer to all he encountered. May his memory be a blessing.

Funeral services and interment will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. Eastern Time at Eagle Point Cemetery in Rossford, Ohio. Services will be streamed online.
