Irene Goodman, 93, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 14, 2020, surrounded by family and loving friends.
She was born in Toledo, Ohio to immigrant parents Rose and Hyman Liberman. Irene attended Scott High School in Toledo, Ohio. She later moved to southern California where she met and married the love of her life, Bernie. Irene returned to Toledo with her husband where they raised their two boys, Bob and Larry. After the death of her husband Bernie, Irene moved to Florida in 2004 where she enjoyed spending time with her son Bob and granddaughter Sarah on most Sundays. Irene travelled frequently to visit her son Larry, and grandson Ben in Texas. She also regularly travelled across the country to visit her siblings, nieces and nephews.
Irene is survived by her sons, Robert (Bob) Goodman and Lawrence (Larry) Goodman, granddaughter Sarah Goodman, grandson Benjamin Goodman, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernie Goodman and siblings, Pauline Singer, Edith Roth, Mitchell Liberman and Ann Kent.
She was a loving mother, avid tennis player, and was a member of the Temple Shomer Emunim in Sylvania, Ohio and was an active member in the Temple's Sisterhood. She was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Irene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed.
