James Dale Beilharz Obituary

James “Jim” Dale Beilharz, born on January 22, 1940, in Liberty Center, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on January 19, 2025, in Erie, Michigan, just three days shy of his 85th birthday. He was the second of three children born to the late Dresden Leroy and Ellen Jean (Fiser) Beilharz. Jim was preceded in death by his older brother, Ralph Beilharz.

After graduating from Libby High School in Toledo, Jim attended the University of Toledo before proudly answering the call to serve his country. In 1959, Jim joined the United States Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged in 1961 and remained deeply proud of his service and love for his country throughout his life.  He was a dedicated member of both the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and the American Legion.

Following his military service, Jim went on to spend the next 30+ years working as a car salesman. Known for being charismatic and socially outgoing, Jim made many lifelong friends along the way. He was also an  avid sports fan, and  passionately supported The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Green Bay Packers.

Jim is survived by his loving family: his son Michael James Beilharz and wife Yaroslava, and their children, Roman and Nicholas; his daughter Lauri Levison Katz and husband Randolph, Lauri’s three children, Elayna (Noah), Avi, and Alexa; and his son Scott William Beilharz and wife Sara, along with their four children, Sophie, Stella, Sam, and Sabrina. Jim is also survived by his younger sister, Penelope Beilharz.

Above all, Jim cherished his family and took great pride in his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Jim's memory. May he rest in peace.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bob Woodruff Family Foundation, K9's for Warriors, VFW Foundation or charity of the donors choice.
