James R. Tucholski Obituary

James Roman Tucholski of Whitehouse born December 18, 1932 to Aloysius and Mary (Wilcznski) passed away peacefully April 14th.  James, was better known as Tracer, a nickname he acquired from his football days at Libby High School.  Tracer met the love of his life Joann (Bottles) at Libbey High School and they married on November 29, 1952.
After high school, Tracer served his country in the Korean War as a sergeant in the United States Army.  Once honorably discharged from the Army he returned to Toledo and started working for the New York Central Railroad.  He was active in Local Union 550 and served as Local Chairman for several years.   James eventually retired form Conrail in 1986 and continued his learning journey by obtaining his Associates Degree as a Legal Assistant through the University of Toledo.
James was a proud family man raising five children.  He was an avid golfer with plenty of stories of his days caddying at Inverness, traveling with friends to golf courses around the country, and playing in the Dupont Open several times. His ability to find lost golf balls was legendry.  Tracer and Joann spent their summers in Hillsdale MI. In another life chapter James and Joann would winter in Highlands Ridge, Florida where they enjoyed golf, memorable golf cart rides with grandkids, and other social activities.
James was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Donald Tucker, Jerry and Tony, sister Carol Nitkiewicz, and grandson James David “JD”.   Surviving James are his wife Joann, sister Nancy Feedback, children Deborah (John), James D. (Sandra), Robert (Kathy), Roger (Lyn) and Paulette Burghardt.  Twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the team at Memory Lane for caring for dad and guiding us.  We would also thank our dad’s nurse Precious and the team at St. Clare Commons. Finally, we had tremendous support from Tracie Fountain, from the Office of aging.
Following his wishes there is no viewing. There will be a celebration of life Saturday May 18th at the Waterville Event Center 1440 Waterville-Monclova Rd. Waterville, OH at 5PM.
