Jean (Burns) Cover

Jean Francis (Burns) Cover passed away Monday August 9, 2021 at the age of 95 at Hospice of NW Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born August 7, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio to Ralph and Otilla (Sour) Burns. She married Bill Cover in 1949 and  moved to Toledo in 1957.

Jean was active in the church as past President of the Altar and Rosary Society at Regina Coeli Church, Toledo and a member of the Altar & Rosary Society at Little Flower Catholic Church. where she worked at the extended care program.

Jean was a lifelong Ohio State Football fan. Her family had 50 yard line seats for all home football games. She passed that love on to all her kids and grandkids. She loved all sports and was the biggest fan at her children and grandchildren's games. She was very crafty, loved to knit and crochet, was a great cook and an even better baker.

Jean was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill, brothers Robert and Pete, sister Rita, son David Cover and grandson Patrick Gill.

Surviving is her brother Dave; children, Bill (Allyson) Cover, Robert (Becky) Cover, Judy (Jim) Seifert and Mary (Chris) Gill; grandchildren, Kelly (Rich) VanArsdalen, Jake (Daniele) Seifert, Sherry (Mike) Weirich, Jeff (Sarah) Gill, Mary (Kim) DeRousie, David Gill, Chris Gill, Robert (Sara) Cover, Auston, Anthony, Marshall (K.C.) Williams, Meredith (Adam) Alphin and Rebekah (Jeremiah) Crane; great grandchildren, Zeke, Thad, Eliza and Addy VanArsdalen, Olivia and Natalie Weirich, Maddy and Annabelle Gill, Brandon, Mary and Evelyn DeRousie, Caleb, Gavin and Bosten Gill,  Luke and Elodie Cover, Chezni, Harper, Ryder and Jacob Cover, Jett and Levi Williams and Eden and River Alphin.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday August 11, 2021 from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. in the Thos. I. Wisniewski Funeral Home 2426 North Reynolds Rd. Toledo, Oh. 43615.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in Little Flower Catholic Church where the family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
