John R. Czajka

John R. Czajka, 87, Toledo, OH, passed away on July 13th, 2018, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. John was welcomed by the Lord and reunited with his wife Mitzi. John was born December 11th, 1930 in Toledo, OH to Frank and Harriet Czajka. He was a 1949 graduate of Central Catholic High school. John was a Korean War era veteran of the U.S. Army. John worked at the Toledo Board of Education, he retired in 1993. John was a member of our Lady of Lourdes Parish since birth. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, Brandon, Carrigan; great-grandson, Bryson; and "Sweetheart," Elaine Perzynski. John loved golfing, cooking, polka dancing, and spending time with friends and family. He was also "Romeo" (Retired old men eating out), getting together with the guys once a week. John loved Sangria, cigars, and feeding his birds and animals. He will be missed greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mitzi (Jagodzinski); and brothers, Richard and Jerome. John is survived by his children, John (Lorie) Christine (Donna Poponick); grandchildren, Brandon and Carrigan; and great-grandson, Bryson, all of whom he loved dearly and was very proud of. Thank's to the staff at UTMC and Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 6149 Hill Avenue, Toledo, OH, where the family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. that morning. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice or a charity of your choice.
