John Robert Kolinski Obituary

John Robert Kolinski
John died of complications due to COVID-19 on November 6, 2021, he was 67. Loving, hardworking and generous to a fault, this first beloved son of devoted parents lived and worked to provide for others, taking little if anything for himself. He was born and raised in North Toledo on Everett Street. He attended St. Hedwig Grade School and graduated from Woodward High School, where he played football. John retired from the Jeep Corp after 30 years and most recently worked for the City of Toledo Sewer and Drainage division, which he enjoyed immensely.
John loved God, his family, food, the outdoors, the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Indians, Ohio State Buckeyes, and his work. He was devout in his love of God, reading the Bible daily and praying often. He was devoted to his family, spending all his free time with his young children. An avid Browns and Indians fan, he would often “talk your ear off,” all the way to your car, thoroughly discussing plays, players, trades, drafts and coaches, as well as managers who could always do better. “Go Browns!”
John loved the outdoors and nothing more than riding his bike or fishing off the banks of the river or lakeshore, but these days you would most often find him outdoors playing with his young children.
John really enjoyed his work and was loathe to miss a day. He was a hard-worker and sometimes, with good humor, needed to be told to “slow-down” on hot days lest he have heat stroke.
John was preceded in death by his son Zachariah, his father Leo T.  his brother Kevin, and his brother-in-law, Tom Wisniewski; he is survived by his children Holly Kolinski (Jimmy Brandt), Sarah Kolinski, Aaliyah Kolinski and Alijah Kolinski; mother Margaret Kolinski, sisters Deborah (Edward) Czechowski, Susan Kolinski, and Karen Wisniewski;  grandchildren Jermaine, Prince, Jaxson and Scarlett; special people Julie Kopac, Linda Kolinski, and Brittney Abraham, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many life long friends. He will be dearly missed by so many.
