John W. Hunt, II

John Wesley Hunt II age 66, went peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus on Thursday, July 9, 2026 in the late evening. John was born April 18, 1960 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to John W Hunt I and Shirley (Hartbarger) Hunt. John was raised here in Toledo, Ohio and was a chemical compounder at Spartan Chemical in Maumee, Ohio for 45 loyal years. John retired and stopped working due to some health issues in 2024. John was an avid duck hunter in his younger days and had a lifelong love and passion of fishing. From going up to the Pine River with friends for an annual spring trip, to fishing for blue gill at secret locations, to steelhead fishing on the Manistee River for years with a good friend, to the challenge and enjoyment of catching fish with his fly rod, to the happy moment of taking his son, Johnny ice fishing and hanging out together in the shanty he made.  John enjoyed fishing. He especially found joy in taking others out on his boat so they could catch some fish and have that experience.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  John's personality and nature shone brightly and always was very strong to protect, help and extend friendship, and humor. John loved spending time with his family and every summer found a cottage to rent, enjoyed taking nightly pontoon rides and of course fish. Spending time and hanging out in his backyard was a joy and happy place for him. Having camp fires, eating dinner on the deck in the midst of the flower gardens and watching all the various birds was a simple pleasure he enjoyed. Flipping up the garage door, watching movies, listening to music and tying fly fishing  flies in his man cave was a thing he liked to do. He also loved to socialized and usually would run into someone he knew when out and about.  The past decade he share his love of being out in his boat and fishing with his wife, Karynlynn and they loved and  enjoyed spending that special time together.  
John was a wonderful husband, very proud father, a loving son, devoted big brother, hard worker, and a good friend to many.  John is survived by his wife of 25 years, Karynlynn,  his son, John, his parents, John and Shirley Hunt, brother Leslie Hunt, (Janet), sister, Laurie Laas,, and mother in law, Beverly Kramp, also surviving John’s daughter that he loved, Alexandra from a previous marriage, brother in law, Brian Milner, sister in law Julie Kramp, many nieces and nephews he cared about, and very special lifelong friends and long standing coworker friends. 
John was preceded in death by his dear sister, Julie Hunt Milner and brother’s in law, Kurtis Kramp and Douglas Laas.  
John was truly a good, strong faithful man and shared his faith with many. He believed in the power of prayer and was very touched by the dedication of prayers lifted for him over the years by family, friends and by the church family, Epiphany. There will be a visitation at Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 N. Reynolds Road Toledo, Ohio 43615 on Monday, July 20, 2026 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm. A Memorial Service will held at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 915 N.Reynolds Rd, Toledo, OH 43615, on July 21, 2026 at 11:00 am with a luncheon to follow directly for friends and family to gather.
