Joyce I. (Leith) Schlegel

Joyce I. Schlegel, age 81, of Waterville, Ohio, died Saturday, April 20, 2024. She was born in Toledo on November 10, 1942, to Irene (Nowakowski) and Earl J. Leith. She married Lawrence J. Schlegel on January 5, 1963 and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2023. Joyce had a 45 year career in nursing, retiring from Toledo Hospital after 30 years of service. An avid reader, she was also a talented ceramic artist, selling her works at various craft shows in the area. Joyce loved planting flowers and was known to have one of the most beautiful yards in her neighborhood.

Surviving are her children, Annette (Tony) Klocko and Eric (Tesha) Schlegel; grandchildren, Stephen (Morgan), Lindsey, Austin, Colton and Carter (Emily); great grandchildren, Taylor, Mason and Wyatt Klocko. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Michael, Earl and Raymond Leith and Beverly Fournier.

A Celebration of Life service will be held this summer. Memorial donations are suggested to the Cherry Street Mission or the Toledo Food Bank. Arrangements by the Thos. I. Wisniewski Funeral Home (419) 531-4424.
