Karl Joseph LaPoint Jr, age 61, passed peacefully in his sleep on October 21, 2022. He was born to Karl Sr and Zetta (Blevins) LaPoint on April 3, 1961.

Everyone who knew Karl felt his big heart and giving nature. He was incredibly generous, frequently giving both his time and resources to his church, Samaritan's Purse, Sylvania Area Family Services and anyone in need. His love of travel and fishing often coincided as Karl has fished all over the globe and was enroute to Bora Bora via cruise ship for a fishing expedition when he unexpectedly passed. He loved Sunday Nascar races and shared that love with his family and friends, attending races with them across the country. He was beloved by all who knew him and was an honorary uncle to many who all surely have a story to tell.

Karl was hardworking and the successful business owner of K&G Auto Sales, Inc as well as Roanoke Place. He was revered and respected by his business associates, peers, and employees.

Karl was preceded in death by his parents, William and Zetta (Blevins) Tarr. He is survived by his "Blondie" of 42 years, Lori Cole; his son: Karl III (Kelly), his father: Karl Sr, brother: Greg (Heather) and sisters: Tina Rowe, Lisa LaPoint, and Angela (Tim) Murphy. He was the proud Papa of Karl (Joey) IV, Mikayla, and Luke and he could often be found entertaining and regaling others with stories about them and their exploits. He was the favorite uncle of Travis, Robert, Sara, Brandon, Samantha, Margaret, Elizabeth and Richard.

Visitation will be held at Thomas I Wisniewski Funeral Home on Friday, November 18, 2022 from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. Services will follow on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 11:30am. A celebration of life will immediately follow burial at Sylvania Area Family Services, 5440 Marshall Rd, Sylvania. Fresh flowers can be sent to Thomas I Wisniewski Funeral Home.

Karl was larger than life, his shoes cannot be filled and he will be missed dearly. May he rest in peace.
