Kathleen P. (Groszewski) Mowery

Kathleen Phyllis (Groszewski) Mowery, age 83, passed away in her home on Monday, June 20, 2022. 

She was born on October 20, 1938 to John and Stella (Kowalski) Groszewski.

Kathy attended Woodward High School and was an avid Kmart shopper as well as working there for a short time. Her hobbies included monthly bunco parties with her girl friends, crocheting, crafting, as well as her love to cook. On family vacations at Black Lake, she would famously make endless pounds of bacon and announce that she was washing the dishes if you didn't show up at the table within 10 seconds. She often made enough to feed the entire neighborhood and her children's friends, having pool parties, and sleepovers. Their home was always the place to be!

She is survived by her loving husband, Robert H. Mowery of 65-1/2 years; as well as her three children, Robert G.; daughter-in-law, Patty; Chris, and Amy Mowery-Woerner; and son-in-law, Barry Woerner. Also left to cherish her memory are her four grandchildren, Nicholas, Scott (Molly), Jennifer (Stephen) Biggin and Faith; as well as her sister-in-law, Shirely (Mowery) Hunt; and brother-in-law, Carl Kesling; life long friend, Sue Kazmierczak; and her affectionate cat, Rusty.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her brother, Melvin who affectionately called her Pete; and her sister, Nancy Kesling.

A viewing will be held Sunday, June 26 from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m., at the Thos. I. Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 N. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, with funeral services Monday, June 27 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment following at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, corner of Lagrange and Manhattan.
