Marcella Zientek was born on September 15, 1937, to Helen (Koralewski) and Ben Zientek. She shared her childhood with her sisters Geraldine Mouch (Robert, deceased), Patricia Nelson (Gerald, deceased), and Rose Watkins. After graduating from Swanton High School, Marcie married Ronald Grathwol on October 22, 1955. They raised four children together in Toledo: Mary Jane Grathwol, Margaret Miracola (Michael Donofrio), Barbara Colony (James), and John Grathwol. Marcie enjoyed her 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her granddaughter Elizabeth Colony.
Marcie worked as a clerk at Christ the King school and later as a secretary at Notre Dame Academy.
Marcie died on March 14, 2025, after a short illness. Tributes may be sent to the Sisters of Notre Dame or Little Flower Church. Thanks to her caregivers at Franciscan Care Center for their compassionate care.
Visitation will be at the Thos. I. Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 N. Reynolds Road, on Monday March 17 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with rosary recitation at 6:00 PM. The funeral mass will be held at Little Flower Church, 5522 Dorr St., at 11:00 AM, Tuesday March 18, followed by internment at Resurrection Cemetery.
