MICHELE “MIKE” BLUMBERG passed away peacefully in Toledo, OH on Monday, September 23, 2024. Born in November of 1952 to Ev and Tony Grande in Pittsburgh, PA, Mike graduated from West Virginia University, where she was a Kappa Delta sister, and spent most of her career in sales for the Bayer Corporation. Mike married Al Blumberg of Toledo, OH in 1977 and the two shared a passion for travel and wine until his passing in 2020. In addition to her parents and husband, Mike was preceded in death by her uncle Sal Grande; sister-in-law Alix Greenblatt; and great-nephew Jonah Greenblatt. She is survived by her beloved shih tzu Bruno; brother and sister-in-law Phil and Bonnie Grande; brother-in-law Dick Greenblatt; nephew and niece Mark and Denise Greenblatt and great-nephews Cayden and Max; niece Dana Greenblatt; niece and nephew Joanne and Gary Grant and great-niece and nephew Sarah and Ryan; niece and nephew Candy and Marc Plateau; cousins Diane and Jim Perlman; dear friends Rivki Shemtov and Jane Duffy; and many other relatives and friends around the country. All who knew and loved Mike will remember her as a wonderful hostess who didn't suffer fools and made the world's best lasagna.
Funeral services will be held at Beth Shalom Cemetery on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 11a.m.. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Jewish Federation of Greater Toledo Alix Greenblatt Memorial Fund for Jewish Leadership or a charity of the donor’s choice.
