Norton Kale, 89, of Toledo, passed away on April 21, 2025. Norty was born in Toledo to Tillie (Millstein) and
Charles Kale on April 30, 1935. He attended Woodward High School and then the University of Toledo, where
he obtained a B.A. in Business Administration. Following in his father’s footsteps, he was the owner of East
Side Auto Parts and Norty’s for all of his adult life. A beloved husband, he is survived by his wife of 41 years,
Susan (Bame) Kale. He was the proud father of Lawrence (Mary Jo) Kale, Jeffrey (Abby) Kale, Andrew Kale,
Cindy Kirby, Steve (Candee Ellsworth) Groh and Deb (Eustice James) Groh, and the wonderful grandfather of
13 grandchildren who loved him very much. Norty was an accomplished tennis player, a skillful bowler, and an
antique car enthusiast. He proudly served in the US Army as a military policeman. Norty, also known as Tunie,
exemplified overwhelming kindness and patience, and was a wonderful mentor to many people throughout his
life. A graveside service will be held at Beth Shalom Cemetery on April 24th at 11:00 am. Should you wish
