It is with deep regret that we inform you of the passing of Norton “Norty” S. Weisberg, on Thursday, May 1, 2025, in Orlando, Florida at the age of 90. Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on February 21, 1935, to the late Esther (Tenenbaum) and David Weisberg he was preceded in death by beloved wife, Nancy and brother, Barry. He was the loving father of Robert (Mimi) Weisberg, Wendy Sadler, Tammy Solorzano, and David Weisberg; cherished grandfather of 8 grandchildren, Allison (Ari) Pescovitz, Kelsey (Joseph) Shulan, Emilie (Ben) Menashe, Andrew Sadler, Abby (Logan) Zorn, Amanda Sadler, Madelyn Solorzano and Raquel Solorzano, and great-grandfather of Maya, Ayelet and Noa Pescovitz, Joshua and Elisabeth Shulan, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Norty graduated from the University of Toronto and received his Master’s degree from the University of Toledo.
Norty’s love for educating children was evident for over 41 years as he served as an exemplary middle school teacher for the Toledo Public Schools and tennis, swim and basketball instructor at Twin Oaks, Lincolnshire and the JCC in Toledo, Ohio. He was an active member of The Temple’s Brotherhood and enjoyed playing tennis with family and friends. He enjoyed traveling with his family and had a zest for life that will be a special part of his legacy.
Visitation will be Friday, May 9, 2025 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, at Robert H. Wick/Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 North Reynolds Rd., followed by graveside services at the historic Woodlawn Cemetery, 1502 W. Central Ave, at 11:00 AM. The family requests that contributions in memory of Norty, be made to Temple Shomer Emunim.
