Phyllis F. (Krueger) Schmidt of Toledo, OH sure packed a lot of living into her 93 years, before leaving us on January 20th, 2026. Always lovable, she had a way of being the life of the party, was usually good for a joke or two and had the perfect way of leaving people guessing just a little bit. Fun, honest, witty, clever, ornery, wild and confident, she was still true to her adventurous nature, enjoying bowling, traveling and para-sailing! On the tamer side of things, Phyllis had a life-long love of gardening, enjoyed garage sales and was an avid cake decorator for many years. She had much wisdom for her loved ones when needed, and was great at having a large family whom she loved dearly. Many people have great stories and memories of her, she was truly one of a kind, and words cannot do such a wonderful, prolific woman justice. She was a guiding force for many, and had wisdom beyond her years.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, John Louis Schmidt, two of her children, Michael Blase and Luann Cosby, her stepson John Schmidt, grandson Tim Schmidt, as well as her brothers Dick, Don and Bob Krueger. She is survived by daughters Sue Wozniak, Becky Leckliter, Cindy Schmidt and Sandy Pegler, grandchildren Erica, Jessica, Ryan, Amber, Cathy, Ken, Bob and Amy, as well as 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, planting memorial trees or other charitable cause. Celebration of Life is planned for a later time.
