Richard E. Shoemaker

Richard E. Shoemaker, age 88, of Holland, Ohio passed away on May 7, 2026. He was born on January 13, 1938 in Toledo, Ohio to Merle and Frances (Kujawski) Shoemaker. He married the love of his life, Jean M. (Knous) Shoemaker on May 28, 1960. 
Richard was a quiet man who enjoyed fishing, gardening, collecting classic cars, watching football and the Toledo Mud Hens on TV. At a young age he did landscaping work, but spent most of his years working for several factories. He retired from GM Powertrain in 2006.
He is survived by his children, Ricky (Carol) Shoemaker, Roy (Kristy) Shoemaker and Debora  (Brian) Fawcett, grandchildren  Shannon (Anthony) Aguilar, Roy II (Julie) Shoemaker, Brenden Fawcett, Kelsie (Kyle) Cummins, Rikki Shoemaker, Mylah and Macy Shoemaker; five great grandchildren, Ramona, Eliana and Mateo Shoemaker and Harvey and Eloise Cummins; siblings Judy Hall and Pat Rober and furry friend that's always by his side, Bella.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jean, twin brother Ronald Shoemaker, siblings, Carol Miller and Betty Jo Helminiak, and triplet grandchildren, Luke, Lance and Lily Shoemaker.
Friends and family may call at the Thos. I. Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 North Reynolds Rd. (419-531-4424) from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 where the funeral service will beheld on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
