Richard Michael "Ricky" Day, Jr.

Richard Michael Day, Jr., age 49, of Sylvania, Ohio passed away at home unexpectedly in his sleep on December 28, 2022. Ricky was born on October 27, 1973. He was a graduate of Whitmer High School. In his younger years, Ricky loved to collect flags from around the world. He loved to get to know people. If you went out to eat, he would disappear, and you would find him in the staff area talking to the workers. He was an avid collector of pins and loved to show off his vest and hat that were covered with them. He was known to give a few away to a young child and would return beaming how he made their day. He enjoyed his video games and movies and was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes Football team. He had a knack for remembering details about cars and movie characters. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Kate and Rick Day. He is survived by his devoted twin sister, Rachael; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 9:00 a.m. that morning. Private Interment at Toledo Memorial Park. Expression of sympathy may be made to the Kidney Foundation of NW Ohio.
