Robert J. "Rob" VanWormer, age 71, a lifelong resident of Toledo, Ohio died on Tuesday February 25, 2025. The son of Jeannette M. and Robert J. VanWormer, Sr., he was born on July 13, 1953 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Rob was a 1971 graduate of Start High School and served briefly in the United States Navy. He enjoyed shopping for treasures and watching DVD's and listening to his CD's. He enjoyed going to the Wernert Center, visiting Our Lady of Toledo Shrine and he treasured the Rosary and the Blessed Virgin Mary. Amongst his favorite foods were Reuben sandwiches and pumpkin pie.

Surviving are his sisters, Valerie (Larry) Cross, Susan (Matthew) Prestler and Jean (James) Frey as well as nieces and nephews, Lisa Prestler, Matthew Prestler, Carolyn Krisco, Dr. Theresa Frey and Michael Frey. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday March 3, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church 2240 Castlewood Dr. Toledo, OH. 43613 where the family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. that morning. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
