Sally Kaminsky was born in Toledo, Ohio, to Jacob and Blanche Kale on July 12, 1925. She graduated from Toledo’s Woodward High School and attended the University of Toledo. Sally met Jack Kaminsky at a friend’s wedding, and the rest is history. They married soon thereafter and celebrated more than 67 years of marriage.
Jack and his twin brother, the late Albert Kaminsky, had worked in Jewelry and watch repair before entering the service during World War II. After the War, the brothers visited Fostoria, Ohio, and found it to be a wonderful place to both open a business and raise their families. When a store became available, they opened a jewelry business. Sally assisted Jack in running the business. Their son, Alan, later joined them in the family business. People from all over the area came to visit and shop, and Sally, Jack, and Alan made many friends over the years. That store remained in business for over 60 years, until a fire in February 2008 destroyed the city block in which it was located.
Sally leaves behind her sons, Dr. David (Elysa) Kaminsky, Long Beach, New York; Richard Kaminsky, Evanston, Illinois; and Alan (Teri) Kaminsky, Fostoria, Ohio; as well as grandchildren Jason, Erin, and Alex; and great-grandchildren Addison, Kelsey Kolton, Kade, and Quinn, who brought great joy to her life. She was predeceased by her husband and her sister.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Robert H. Wick/Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 North Reynolds Road, Toledo, Ohio 43615, 419-535-5840. Services and interment will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025 at Beth Shalom Cemetery in Oregon, Ohio.
