Shelly Lynn (Kohler) Bowling

Shelly (Kohler) Bowling, of West Lafayette, Indiana, died on February 13, 2026, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Shelly was born in Akron, Ohio, on May 25, 1971, to Karen and Gordon Kohler. She graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1989, and then went on to get her bachelors degree in psychology from Indiana University. Shel then received her Masters degree in occupational therapy from the Medical College of Ohio. On September 13, 1997, Shelly married Dennis Bowling.

She loved spending time with her family and had a great love for the ocean and travel.

Shelly is survived by her husband, Dennis; her children, Alex, Grace and Sophia; parents, Gordon and Karen Kohler; sister, Lori (Kirk) Wolfe; in-laws, Ronald and Shirley Bowling; sisters-in-law, Paula and Julie; and her niece and four nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Sylvania, Ohio. Visitation at 9:00 a.m., in the church, with the Mass to follow at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to the American Cancer Society.
