Shirley (Dauer) Radzimoski, 95, passed away peacefully at home in Bowling Green, Ohio on May 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 1, 1931 in Monroe, Michigan, to Orville and Mabel (Sieb) Dauer. Shirley graduated from Monroe High School in 1949. She began her career as a secretary at the River Raisin Paper Company in Monroe. She then moved on to the Ford Motor Company and after this position, she worked at her High School Alma Mater as the secretary to the principal. This was her favorite position, where she was also the advisor to the Film Club.
Shirley was an avid bowler and at one time participated in three different leagues each week. She travelled to various bowling tournaments and the highlight of her bowling career was her high score of 268. With her love of music, she was an accomplished accordion player. Her family said she got all the musical talents in the family, which included dancing, singing in the church choir in addition to playing the accordion. She took lessons from the Trick Brothers Accordion Institute and performed in their annual concert at the Toledo Zoo Amphitheatre in 1943. She played her accordion on the radio at that time as well and at many family gatherings. She enjoyed travelling and visited many states with her family and friends.
In 1956, she met the love of her life, Stanley Radzimoski, at the Rustic Lodge dance hall. This is where they shared their passion for music and dance, specifically the Polka and the Jitterbug. In 1959, they were married in Monroe, Michigan and then moved to Toledo, Ohio, where they began their life together.
Once in Toledo, she continued her career at the A&P Company and then moved on to a new position at the University of Toledo, working for the Director of the Student Union. She was also an Avon Lady and enjoyed servicing her customers. In addition, she supported her husband's sales career as his home office secretary for 32 years. She enjoyed babysitting her neighbor's children and also was the secretary for their start-up painting company. After the passing of her husband in 1994, she took on his role in sales and was awarded "Sales Person of the Year".
Shirley was very caring, humble, loving and devoted to her family and friends. She truly enjoyed being a part of her multi-generational home for 23 years and was extremely proud of her grandchildren in all of their various activities and accomplishments. She was a very faithful woman and was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church of Monroe, Michigan, where she also sang in their choir. When she moved to Toledo, she became a member of another Zion Lutheran Church.
As a Michigander, Shirley was a devoted Michigan Wolverine fan in addition to the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions. You would find her cheering on her teams whether they were winning or losing.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Julie Radzimoski and her grandchildren, Blake, Michaela and Brent, who were the lights of her life. She is also survived by her sister Carol Eshelman of Monroe, Michigan, sister-in-law, Dorothy Batton, of Kingwood, Texas and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her infant son Steven soon after his birth and her husband Stanley along with her parents Orville and Mabel Dauer.
