Virginia Ann "Ginny" (Okonski) Hines Obituary


  Virginia "Ginny" Ann Hines was called home to be with the Lord on February 27, 2025. She was born on August 28, 1949, beloved daughter of Jerome and Ellen Okonski. Ginny was a lifelong resident of the Toledo area and proud graduate of Rogers High School and the University of Toledo. 
Early childhood education was the central focus of her career, including her work at Head Start, Owens Community College, and Fulton County Schools, and other organizations. 
She was dedicated to her friends and family, enjoying every opportunity to be with them. She was an active member in her church, school alumni group, and community. 
Ginny was preceded in death by her husband, Steve. She is survived by her children Todd (Stephanie) and Krista (Eric) Moore; grandchildren Logan, Landon, Alyssa, and Mason Hines; and great-grandson Rowan Hines. She is also survived by her siblings Donnie (Brenda) Oknoski, LouAnn Upton, and Gary (Norma) Okonski, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ginny was a joyful, beaming light for Christ to all of the people in her life. 

Funeral services will be on Friday, March 7, 2025 at King of Glory Lutheran Church 6517 Brint Rd. Sylvania, OH 43560.
Visitation will begin at 11a.m. with the Funeral Service to follow at 1:00 p.m. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the King of Glory Lutheran Church.
